TokenLogic
TokenLogic is an Australian DeFi service provider that runs treasury management, GHO growth and analytics for the Aave DAO under mandates the DAO votes on.
The short answer
It is a business-to-business team, not a fund: nobody deposits money with it, and its work is visible as Aave governance proposals, steward contracts and a public dashboard. Its current Aave mandate pays 2.5 million aEthLidoGHO a year, and a May 2026 extension would add 5,000 AAVE. The main caveat is concentration: Aave is the only client with a documented public record, and the vote result for the 2026 extension was not shown in the sources opened in October 2026.

What TokenLogic is and who runs it
TokenLogic is a small team that works for decentralized organizations as an outside finance department. Its website describes the business as scaling capital markets, optimizing treasury and providing real-time analytics for protocols and institutions, and shows two logos, Aave and Plasma, without saying what each relationship covers.
The founder is Matthew Graham. In a March 2023 post on the Aave governance forum announcing TokenLogic as an independent voting delegate, he wrote that he had contributed to Aave since May 2021 and had led the Aave team at Llama, the DAO service provider, before setting up TokenLogic. TokenLogic's GitHub organisation, created in May 2023, lists Australia as its location, and the terms for one of its internal apps, published in September 2026, are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
The company does not publish a legal entity name, a street address, a team page or funding information. It has no token.
How TokenLogic works for the Aave DAO
TokenLogic is paid by the Aave DAO as a service provider, under scopes that token holders approve on the governance forum, on Snapshot and then in on-chain Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs). Payment is a stream from the Aave treasury rather than a percentage of assets.
The October 2025 Phase II proposal lists the work. On treasury, it covers financial planning, budgets, cash flow, funding of new deployments and monitoring of the Safety Module and its successor, Umbrella. On asset management, it covers tooling such as the Bridge Steward and Swaps Steward, AAVE and GHO liquidity and yield on idle funds. It also covers growth of GHO, Aave's stablecoin, through DeFi and exchange integrations, GHO risk stewardship (borrow rate, caps and peg), leadership of the Aave Liquidity Committee, and the Aave analytics portal.
The May 2026 extension proposal widens that to managing Aave's finances, budget, reporting and investor-relations insights, maintaining tooling first built by BGD Labs (such as the Aave Address Book and Permissions Book), parts of Aave V4 development, and business development. A delegate who supported it, robtg4, asked whether putting the team that prepares financial proposals in charge of the tools that check governance proposals weakens independent oversight, and whether an independent risk provider should validate its liquidation-parameter work.
Reimbursable costs such as audits, gas and legal fees are paid separately through funding updates. The September 2026 update, for example, reimbursed TokenLogic 69,939.27 for two audits by Trail of Bits and ChainSecurity of a GHO and sGHO swap component for Aave V4. For how this record looks next to other firms in the field, see how TokenLogic compares with other treasury and liquidity managers.
| Proposal | Term | Payment |
|---|---|---|
| Temp check with karpatkey, Nov 2023 | Initial 180 days | 400,000 GHO budget for both teams |
| Financial service provider renewal, Dec 2024 | 15 Dec 2024 to 15 Dec 2025 | 1,000,000 GHO |
| Phase II, Oct 2025 | 1 Nov 2025 to 31 Oct 2026 | 2,500,000 aEthLidoGHO |
| Phase II extension, May 2026 (AIP #497) | 12 months, replacing Phase II stream | 2.5M aEthLidoGHO, 5,000 AAVE, 2M allowance |
Custody, permissions and transparency
TokenLogic does not hold the money it manages. The Phase II proposal describes steward contracts that let Aave's finance stewards move treasury funds between the DAO's own addresses and swap them on the networks where they sit, "without taking custody of funds." Larger changes go through AIPs that any token holder can vote on and anyone can read.
The public record is unusually detailed. TokenLogic posts proposals and periodic funding updates on the Aave forum, publishes the code for proposal payloads and steward contracts on GitHub, and runs the Aave Analytics dashboard at aave.tokenlogic.xyz. On 25 October 2026 that dashboard showed $31.2 billion of user deposits and $12.3 billion of active loans on Aave, $75.9 million of annualised protocol revenue and 314.88 million GHO in circulation. These are figures for Aave, not assets TokenLogic controls.
As the September 2026 funding update notes for a planned private-credit trial, TokenLogic does not originate those assets, finance them from its own balance sheet or guarantee their performance.
Risks and what is not disclosed
For a DAO considering TokenLogic, the main risk is dependence on one client and a widening scope. Aave is the only client with a public record; the 2024 renewal post also mentions analytics work for Gearbox, and the website shows a Plasma logo without detail. A team that handles budgets, risk inputs, governance tooling and growth for the same DAO concentrates a lot of influence, which is the concern the delegate raised in May 2026.
TokenLogic does not publish a legal entity, audited accounts or a client list. In the sources opened in October 2026 we found no hack, enforcement action or loss attributed to TokenLogic itself. The extension vote result was not visible on the forum thread, so check AIP #497 on Aave's governance site for its outcome.
History
TokenLogic grew out of individual contributors' work on Aave and became its finance team in stages.
- May 2021: Matthew Graham starts contributing to Aave, by his own account, later leading the Aave work at Llama.
- March 2023: TokenLogic launches as an Aave governance delegate.
- November 2023: TokenLogic and karpatkey (now kpk) propose jointly acting as Aave's financial service provider, describing a treasury of about $130 million.
- December 2024: TokenLogic's renewal as financial service provider goes to Snapshot, at 1 million GHO for 12 months.
- October 2025: Phase II proposal, covering 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026.
- May to June 2026: Phase II extension proposed and put on-chain as AIP #497.

Questions people ask
Can I invest with TokenLogic?
No. TokenLogic does not run a fund, vault or deposit product for individuals. It is paid by the Aave DAO to manage DAO finances and build analytics. Anyone can read its work for free on the Aave Analytics dashboard and the Aave governance forum, but there is nothing to deposit into, and no TokenLogic token exists.
Is TokenLogic part of Aave Labs?
No. TokenLogic is an independent service provider paid by the Aave DAO through governance votes. The May 2026 extension proposal describes Aave Labs as the protocol's primary technical developer and TokenLogic as the team responsible for finances and operations, with some shared work on Aave V4.
How do I contact TokenLogic?
The website has a contact form, and its GitHub organisation lists [email protected]. Public discussion happens on the Aave governance forum, where TokenLogic posts as @TokenLogic, and on X at @Token_Logic. TokenLogic does not offer customer support, so be wary of anyone in a direct message who claims to manage funds for it.
What was the November 2023 treasury figure?
The joint karpatkey and TokenLogic temp check of 21 November 2023 described Aave's treasury as worth about $130 million across 18 deployments, with a 12-month budget of about $19.1 million. TokenLogic does not publish a current treasury total in its proposals; its dashboard tracks revenue and expenses instead.
