Also known as Alfa.cash
The short answer
It dates itself to May 2012, which makes it one of the older services of its kind, and as of October 2026 its homepage reports $368 million exchanged across 620,000 orders. The caveats are in the terms: US residents and 25 other countries are excluded, a fixed rate holds for only five minutes, flagged deposits can be frozen or sent back, and any refund costs 5% plus external fees.

What Alfacash is and who operates it
Alfacash is a swap desk: you send one cryptocurrency and receive another at an address you choose, without placing orders on a trading screen. Its terms of use name the operator as AlfaLAB LTD, a company registered under the Nevis Business Corporation Ordinance with company number C 59382. That number appears on Alfacash's own documents; we did not match it to a Nevis registry record.
The company's About page says Alfacash was founded in May 2012 as an electronic currency exchange and began accepting bitcoin in early 2013, adding coins year by year after that. The same page dates an automatic exchange feature to 2015, its API to 2017, and support for QIWI Wallet and Russian bank cards to 2020. Alfacash does not name its founders, managers or headcount, and no licence or registration appears anywhere on the site.
How swaps work: fixed and floating rates
Each order starts with a choice of rate. The terms say a fixed rate is locked for five minutes from the moment the order is created, and you must send the deposit within that window. A floating rate is not locked at all and is settled at the market rate when the order completes. If a fixed-rate deposit arrives after five minutes, the order is recalculated at the rate current at completion, so a slow wallet or a congested network turns a fixed quote into a floating one.
Once a transaction starts, the refund policy says it cannot be cancelled. Some services need a personal account, and the terms list those verification steps: phone number, an identity document valid for at least six more months, and proof of address. Plain swaps can run without one. Alfacash also offers Auto-exchange, which converts coins sent to a standing address without visiting the site, and an API for partners.
Fees
Alfacash charges a service fee but does not publish a fee table. The terms say users agree to pay service fees and that the company may change them at its discretion. As with other instant exchangers, the practical cost is the difference between the rate offered and the market rate, plus the network fee for the payout. Registered users get a discount the homepage puts at up to 10% of exchange fees.
Two charges are stated as numbers. A refund costs 5% plus any external fees, and the About page says partners in the referral program can earn up to 20%, without saying of what base. The rate figure we recorded when comparing Alfacash with other instant exchangers is a gross rate that leaves out network fees, so it should not be read as a final price. A quote for your exact amount, checked against what arrives, is the only reliable test; our article on the cheapest way to swap crypto walks through it.
Who can use Alfacash
The terms bar anyone who is a citizen or resident of the United States, including Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the US Virgin Islands. They also list 25 prohibited jurisdictions: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cambodia, the Central African Republic, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Nepal, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territory, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Users must be at least 16. Russian residents are directed to a separate set of terms.
Is Alfacash safe? Screening, custody and refunds
Alfacash describes itself as non-custodial, meaning it does not keep balances for you between swaps. While an order is open, though, your coins are in its hands. Under its Know Your Transaction rules, every deposit is checked on-chain with third-party analytics, and a deposit rated high-risk can be delayed, suspended, cancelled or reversed. The company may also ask where the funds came from or where they are going.
A suspended or reversed transaction falls under the refund rules. Refunds are possible only in exceptional cases: serious payment delays, errors caused solely by the website, actions of third parties, or transactions stopped by the screening system. Requests must reach the support address within five working days and are paid by the original method, minus the 5% fee and external costs. Coins sent to a wrong address are treated as lost.
The site's footer links to a bug bounty page on HackerOne, but that page returned a not-found error when checked in October 2026. Alfacash publishes no proof of reserves, audit or insurance, and the risk statement in its terms says no private or public insurer will cover losses.
Support and avoiding impostors
Help comes through a support page on the site, an email address given in the terms, and a single Telegram community. The terms warn that Alfacash has only one official Telegram channel and that all others are fake, and they list scam patterns to watch for: fake support agents asking for 2FA codes or remote access, giveaways, investment schemes and look-alike domains. The genuine domain is alfa.cash. Similar no-registration services include Exolix and ChangeNOW.

Questions people ask
Is Alfacash legit?
Alfacash is an established service: it dates itself to 2012, names its operator, AlfaLAB LTD of Nevis, and publishes dated terms, refund and AML policies. It discloses no licence, the company number has not been matched to a registry record, and the volume figures on its homepage are its own and unaudited. Treat it as an offshore exchanger, not a regulated one.
Can I use Alfacash in the United States?
No. The terms of use exclude citizens and residents of the United States and all US territories, including Puerto Rico and Guam. By accepting the terms, users confirm they are not in a country where crypto transactions are prohibited, in the United States, or in one of the 25 jurisdictions the terms name.
What happens if my Alfacash deposit is flagged?
The swap can be delayed, suspended, cancelled or reversed, and Alfacash may ask for documents about the source or destination of the funds. If the transaction is refunded, the money goes back by the original method less a 5% refund fee and external costs. The request has to be made within five working days.
Do I need an account to use Alfacash?
Not for an ordinary swap, but the terms say some orders cannot be placed without a personal account. Registering requires a phone number and, for verification, an identity document and proof of address. Account holders get a fee discount of up to 10%, according to the homepage.
